A fair amount of the items are not labeled and lack written explanations as to their use our history.īUT, that's ok. There are no interactive displays or modern audio/visual components. The museum has many relics of the coal industry spanning the late 1800s into the early 70s. It's difficult to decide if this attraction is a run down museum or a fantastic tourist stop. Food, SUPER EXPENSIVE!!! 6.00 for a hot dog, 8.00 for a SLICE of pizza?!!! Then, when we get outside, an hour before closing time, the entrance to the water area is COMPLETELY DARK!!! NO lights, AT ALL!!! Only about 1 or 2 lights in the parking lot, which is down a little hill from the entrance to the water area!!! WORST water play experience, EVER!!! This place belongs in a SCARY MOVIE!!! Water for raft slide is FREEZING!!! Too COLD to even step in!!! Hot tub area closed, water ride broken. Air is COLD, VERY POOR lighting, lots of RUST spots in wave pool!!! Caution tape around basketball pool area. But if it's ANYTHING like the water play area, STAY AWAY!!! The water area, if you love your child, do NOT even let them KNOW about this place!!! Two children, one being mine, got CUTS in their feet, at the children's area!!! Other child got CUTS, SO BAD, his mom, who works as a nurse, said she thinks he needs STITCHES!!! Slip prevention mats that are supposed to be soft, were hard, kids were slipping on them, falling, hitting their heads, biting their tongues. If it hadn't already been after 4pm, & other indoor water parks were approx 30 min away, & more money, we would have turned RIGHT around from the parking lot, and went ELSEWHERES!!! We did not stay at the hotel. You walk up to the entrance, it looks dingy. I should have known, from the HUGE POTHOLES in the parking lot, & the entrance to the pool area, is NOT visible from the parking lot.
